Garden Room Extension
Chew Stoke, North Somerset
For this project my clients approached me with a challenge to reconfigure their existing space to improve the connection between the living areas and the garden. The main part of the garden is situated at a higher level and was under-used due to limited access and poor flow from the house which terminated in an office extension that had been built previously.
Through the introduction of a new contemporary extension we were able to create a living space at the upper level allowing full appreciation of the garden. Careful remodeling of the interior spaces in tandem with this allowed for improved flow from the kitchen and a separated space to reposition the existing office to. A cosy library area with a window seat connects the two spaces.
The extension was carefully designed using materials which are in-keeping with the historic barn from which it extends, whilst also providing contrasting contemporary elements. The result is a complete transformation to the owners enjoyment of the property.
